We’re celebrating Roald Dahl Day

Roald Dahl DayToday is Roald Dahl Day. The celebrated author has penned numerous children’s stories that continue to be enjoyed in school and at home by generations. This year James and the Giant Peach is 50 years old – adding to the celebrations.

To mark the occasion we’ve taken a quick poll in the LEGO® Education office and by far our favourite book is The BFG. Other favourites include Matilda, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and George’s Marvellous Medicine.
We’ve also had some fun building some LEGO models based on Roald Dahl’s tales. Take a look at our models – can you guess which books they’re based on?

This could be a quick activity to build into your literacy lessons. We used our LEGO® Brick Set but you could easily use any LEGO bricks that you already have in your classroom. Telling a story through building develops creativity and imagination, builds communication and language and encourages team work.

We’d love to see any models you can share with us – get in touch via our Twitter or Facebook pages.
